I buy my feeders from rodent pro and it was $30 for 100 pinkies. I only ever feed frozen so I don't know about live prices, but if I go to the chain pet store, it's $12 for 6 pinkies and up to $10 for a single medium rat. Sand boas are known for hiding pretty much 24/7 and maybe poking their heads out to look around.Īs far as food costs go, it'll depend on where you get your feeders. BPs are going to be less hide-y than a sand boa. I know BPs have a reputation for being picky eaters which may or may not be something you want to deal with, but of course individuals vary. A 10 gallon might be alright for a male sand boa where you'll probably be looking at at least a 40 gallon for a BP. BPs aren't particularly large, but compared to a sand boa, there's a pretty good difference.
I think size is going to be the biggest difference. I don't have a BP or a sand boa, but I researched both before eventually getting my pueblen milk. Either clear the area and it will likely move along, or call your local wildlife service instead. Not only is it illegal in most states, it is senseless and unnecessarily places you at risk.
